Bitter orange is a plant. The peel, flower, leaf, fruit, and fruit juice are used to make medicine. Bitter orange oil is made from the peel.
Notable uses: Science has shown only that the oil, when applied to the skin, might be effective for treatment of fungal skin infections (ringworm, jock itch, and athlete’s foot). In manufacturing, bitter orange oil is used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and soaps.
