What to do to treat chapped lips easily and effectively?

Do you often have chapped lips and wonder why - and, especially what to do? To top it all off, it seems that it happens in the winter, in the summer, in the morning or even at the end of a long day. Luckily, there are some very effective lip balms on the market - ahem, especially one made with beeswax that has a small green beaver on it. But, we’ll get back to that later!

What to do to treat chapped lips easily and effectively?

What exactly causes chapped lips?

The weather is definitely the main reason. A change in humidity in the winter or frequent sun exposure in the summer could result in chapped lips. Another common cause is saliva from habitual licking that could worsen your condition. But why? Sebaceous glands secrete an oily matter known as sebum that lubricates the skin (almost) everywhere on your body. However, lips don’t contain these types of oil glands, which means that they are more susceptible to drying out and becoming cracked.

Ok, so what can I do?

As much as it can be quite annoying when it occurs, there is a silver lining: it’s surprisingly easy to get rid of chapped lips. Our organic lip balms are the first step to give your lips all the love they seek and deserve. They are made of organic beeswax from the Hockley Valley Honey Farm, home of happy bees that forage in pristine, uncontaminated, and all-natural meadows!  Choose your favourite flavor and apply it daily.

You’ll also want to add a humidifier at home. Not only will this help your cracked lips, but it could also help you sleep better and ease symptoms of flu or the common cold.

If you have recurring chapped lips, this could mean that you don’t drink enough water. Friendly reminder, you should drink 2 liters of water every day.

Now that you have all the knowledge needed, say goodbye to your dry chapped lips, once and for all. Welcome soothed and soft lips!
